United in Faith Helping People in Need
Churches United of the Quad City Area is a cooperative association of 135+ churches representing more than 20 Christian Faith traditions in the greater Quad Cities area.
The ministries of Churches United include: 24 food pantries, 3 hot meal sites, Winnie's Place, a shelter for women, with or without children who are homeless and/or survivors of domestic violence, and Winnie's Wishes, a resale shop, whose proceeds directly benefit Winnie's Place.
The mission of Churches United of the Quad City Area is to Serve This Community, Revitalize the Church, and Celebrate Christian Unity. We fulfill this mission in several ways, including: direct service ministries, cooperative ministries, witness ministries, advocacy ministries, growth ministries and celebration ministries.
Holiday Train Returns!
Collect canned food and other non-perishable food items, round up family and friends, and c'mon down to the Davenport riverfront for live entertainment, cookies, hot cocoa compliments of Dunn Brothers Coffee in Bettendorf, cookies contributed by Hy-Vee, and a whole lot of fun when the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train rolls in on Tuesday, December 4 at 1:45 p.m.
Churches United's 24 neighborhood food pantries and 3 hot meal sites will benefit again from the arrival of the seasonal crowd favorite. Canadian hard rock band The Trews and Wisconsin musician Willy Porter will be performing during the stop. Goodie bags will be handed out to children age 8 and under, thanks in part to support from SSAB of Iowa. We cordially invite and urge Quad-Citians to donate dollars and give food, especially heart healthy items with a non-expired best buy date, in honor of the Holiday Train event.
