The Muslim Community of the Quad Cities Islamic Center  invites you to come and get to know your Muslim neighbors on
May 2, 2015, 2-5pm
, Located at: 2115 Kimberly Road, Bettendorf (near HobbyLobby).

We invite all members of the community to visit the Mosque, experience a guided tour, see Islamic art and exhibits and stop by our educational booths and ask questions. There will be an opportunity to purchase unique gifts from around the world with all proceeds going to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley.

At 3pm there will be a welcome address from local mayors and Anne Wachel, Executive Director - Churches United of the Quad Cities. We look forward to seeing you!

This year's 3rd Annual Mother's Day Concert, presented by the RiverBend Bronze Handbell Ensemble, will be on Sunday, May 10th @ 4:00 p.m. at the Scottish Rite Cathedral, 1800 7th Ave., Moline. The concert is free and open to the public with a free-will donation being accepted at the door.

River Bend Bronze is the Quad Cities' own community based handbell choir. Members of the group come from the Quad Cities proper as well as surrounding communities. The group for this concert numbers 14 auditioned ringers. Three of the ringers presently direct other handbell choirs in their own churches. The director of the group, Larry B. Peterson, is Director of Music for Campus Ministries at Augustana where he conducts the Ascension Ringers and Steeple Ringers handbell choirs.

Some of the pieces on this year's concert will include arrangements of such recognizable tunes as: Pirates of the Caribbean, Let It Go from the Disney movie, Frozen and a couple of original arrangements of hits by the legendary rock group, Queen.

To top off the afternoon, there will be a dessert reception after the concert. So, after you have treated mom to that Sunday dinner out, bring her and the rest of the family out for a delightful afternoon concert and desserts.
