SCRA Grant Funds Fresh Food at Pantries
Volunteers at our 13 food pantries in Scott County will offer fresh food to individuals and families in need this summer, thanks to a generous $18,000 grant from the Scott County Regional Authority (SCRA).
The SCRA has awarded a total of $81,341,379 in grants since 1991. These funds are generated from gaming receipts received through the Isle Casino in Bettendorf. The mission of the SCRA is to serve the needs of the residents of Scott County, Iowa.
Churches United of the Quad City Area offers free food to individuals and families at 25 neighborhood food pantries in our bi-state area. Dinner is served daily at one of our 3 hot meal sites. Women, with or without children, are sheltered at Winnie's Place, the only emergency shelter in the Illinois Quad Cities for homeless women and children who may have survived domesic abuse.
Our mission is to Serve this Community, revitalize the Church, and celebrate our Christian Unity.
